The double header of the ADAC RAVENOL Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie lived up to what fans had hoped for from two races within just two days: four hours of Nordschleife action on Saturday and Sunday, coupled with completely different conditions and plenty of drama. Rounds eight and nine also marked the decisive final sprint of the 2026 NLS season.
NLS8: Schubert wins in a photo finish
The 65th ADAC Reinoldus endurance race turned into a true endurance thriller over four hours. The BMW M4 GT3 EVO from Schubert Motorsport with Jens Klingmann, Ugo de Wilde and Jordan Pepper narrowly beat the Falken Porsche in the end. For Klingmann, it was a special success, as the BMW works driver celebrated his first overall victory in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie.
Behind the victorious BMW, the Falken Porsche delivered another strong performance, while the Max-Kruse-Audi secured third place overall with a surprisingly strong performance. The race was also characterized by numerous incidents and several Code 60 phases, which repeatedly closed up the gaps at the front.
NLS9: The Nordschleife becomes a water slide
Just 24 hours later, the Eifel presented a completely different side of itself. The 66th ADAC ACAS Cup started under dry conditions, but rain set in during the very first half of the race. The precipitation became increasingly heavy, turning the Nordschleife into an extremely difficult challenge as the race progressed. At times, there was so much water on the track that aquaplaning became the dominant issue, even with rain tires.
Under these conditions played Falken Motorsports executed his tire strategy perfectly. Morris Schuring and Tim Heinemann brought the Falken Porsche 911 GT3 R across the finish line as the winner after four hours, securing the team's first NLS victory of the season. Behind them, the second Schnabl Porsche completed the Nico Menzel and Flynt Schuring a remarkable double victory for Schnabl Engineering. Third place went to the Black Falcon Porsche driven by Assenheimer, Müller, and Pereira.
A special story was provided by the just 18-year-old Flynt Schuring, who drove straight to the podium in his first GT3 outing on the Nordschleife under the most difficult conditions. At times he even had to drive the car on slicks on a wet track before the switch to rain tires was made.
Too Walkenhorst Motorsport impressed with his Aston Martin Vantage GT3. After finishing seventh on Saturday, Christian Krognes, Dennis Fetzer, and Mateo Villagomez fought their way up to fourth overall on Sunday despite difficult conditions.
By contrast, for yesterday's winner, the second part of the double header ended early. The Schubert BMW #77 had to retire after about an hour of racing following a slip-up by Ugo de Wilde during the first rain shower. The KCMG Mercedes didn't even make it to the start after an accident in qualifying.
With two completely different race outcomes, the double header once again underscored the unique characteristics of the Nordschleife. While fractions of a second decided the overall victory on Saturday, Sunday turned into a battle against rain, aquaplaning, and the unpredictable conditions of the Green Hell. At the same time, the championship battle moved back into focus ahead of the season finale.
