An initial provisional entry list has been confirmed for the opening round of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) in Imola. A total of 35 cars are scheduled for the race weekend from 17 to 19 April in Italy. The field is led by 17 hypercars from eight different manufacturers.
The FIA WEC is one of the most important international championships in sports car racing. The start of a new season traditionally attracts a great deal of attention – accordingly, interest in the race in Imola is high. The entry list now released includes cars from the Hypercar and LMGT3 categories. As usual, the Hypercars compete for overall victory.
In the top class, 17 cars are entered. Two cars each are represented from the following models: Aston Martin Valkyrie, Toyota GR010 Hybrid, Cadillac V-Series.R, BMW M Hybrid V8, Genesis GMR-001 Hypercar, Alpine A424 and Peugeot 9X8. Ferrari is represented with three cars, including not only the two factory entries but also a privately entered 499P by AF Corse.
There are only a few changes in the driver line-ups. Alex Lynn will not start in Imola, and Jack Aitken is also absent from the Cadillac line-up. Two manufacturers continue to rely on driver pairings: Aston Martin enters with the combinations Tom Gamble/Harry Tincknell and Alex Riberas/Marco Sørensen. At BMW, Kevin Magnussen and Raffaele Marciello as well as Sheldon van der Linde and René Rast share the cockpits.
The LMGT3 category also features a full field with 18 cars.
