During the ADAC 24h Nürburgring qualifier weekend, PROsport Racing took the next step in its GT3 development. The Eifel-based team deployed a Mercedes-AMG GT3 on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife for the first time and used the event to prepare for the upcoming 24-hour race.
In the Sunday race, the car competed under the name „PROsport Racing Team Bilstein.“ Adam Christodoulou, Mikaël Grenier, and Chris Lulham took turns at the wheel. Regular driver Marek Böckmann is also set to join the lineup for the 24-hour race in May.
From a sporting perspective, the primary focus was on data collection. The new GT3 race car in BILSTEIN design completed the four-hour race largely without major issues and was ultimately ranked tenth overall. This allowed the team to gather valuable experience under race conditions on the Nordschleife.
However, the weekend was overshadowed by a serious accident in the field of participants, which also involved one of the vehicles deployed. The team did not elaborate on the exact background.
With the deployment of up to five vehicles, PROsport Racing showed a broad presence in the field overall. After seventh place overall in last year's 24-hour race – achieved with a Pro-Am vehicle – the focus is now on the future. The use of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 and the expanded driver lineup are considered part of the further development with regard to the season highlight on the Nordschleife.
