PROsport Racing looks back on a period of intensive future planning and an hour ago provided an outlook on structural changes and the upcoming racing season. Team founder Chris Esser announces that he will hand over operational team management to younger hands and will be active in a consulting capacity in the future. The announcement of the new team principal is planned for the coming weeks. Additionally, there will be adjustments to the shareholder structure, which will open up positive prospects for the team's future.
PROsport Racing is also turning a new page in motorsports. After the end of the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 era, the team is switching brands to Mercedes-AMG. With the Mercedes-AMG GT4 Evo, the team will compete in endurance races on the Nürburgring Nordschleife as well as in an attractive GT4 sprint series. As in previous years, the GT Winter Series will again serve as a platform to form strong driver pairings for the sprint category. The goal remains to continue the successful track record in the GT4 segment – so far, the team has achieved six GT4 championship titles and numerous podium finishes.
In the GT3 category, PROsport Racing will also be relying on Mercedes-AMG in the future. A Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo is already ready for action at the team's location in Wiesemscheid. The vehicle is not new territory for the Nürburgring team: As early as 2018, PROsport Racing won the overall standings of the 24H Series with this model and was on the podium in every race of the season. Current race programs are being examined, and the team is generally open to suitable racing projects.
The move to Mercedes-AMG is a logical step for PROsport Racing, arising from their previous technical experience and the similarities in the vehicle concepts. Consequently, there is great anticipation for upcoming deployments with the AMG models.
The two Aston Martin Vantage GT3s, which have recently been used primarily in the Nürburgring Endurance Series, will remain in the fleet and are set to compete again on the Nordschleife in 2026. The vehicle portfolio will be supplemented by the Porsche Cayman Pro4, which will continue to be used occasionally and holds special emotional value for the team.
Further details on the racing program will be released by PROsport Racing at a later date. Additionally, PROsport Classic's successful activities in historic motorsport and PROsport SimRacing's activities in virtual racing will continue unchanged.
