Genesis will compete at the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans with a new, particularly striking vehicle design. The two GMR-001 hypercars from the brand, which belongs to the Hyundai Motor Group, will feature a bold livery that transitions from a deep red to magma orange.
Preparations for the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2026 are already in full swing. The race will take place on June 13th and 14th at the Circuit de la Sarthe. The official pre-test is already scheduled for June 7th. As part of the prestigious endurance race, Genesis is opting for a special appearance and will present its two hypercars in a new color scheme.
The design is inspired by the theme of „Magma“ and incorporates the symbolism of volcanic lava. With this, Genesis refers to the volcanic origins of the Korean Peninsula. Although both vehicles share the same basic design, they differ in individual accents and markings.
Car number 19, piloted by Paul-Loup Chatin, Mathieu Jaminet, and Daniel Juncadella, features white logos and design elements. In contrast, car number 17, driven by Luis Felipe Derani, André Lotterer, and Mathys Jaubert, uses orange and black accents.
Team principal Cyril Abiteboul describes Le Mans as the most important event of the season for Genesis Magma Racing. The race is the biggest sporting challenge of the year, especially for a team in its first season in the FIA World Endurance Championship. At the same time, the event offers the ideal stage to present the Genesis brand and the identity of Genesis Magma Racing to a global audience. The Magma concept has been a central part of the brand identity since the team was founded at the end of 2024. With the new vehicle design, this will now also be visible on the racetrack. Abiteboul also expressed his conviction about the appearance of the vehicles and emphasized the team's ambition to back up the high quality and detailed work of the design with sporting success.
