Photo review – 09/04/1988 – ADAC 1000 km Nürburgring
With the Lancia LC2/88, one of the most fascinating Group C prototypes of its time returned to the racetrack in 1988. Jean-Pierre Frey and Paolo Giangrossi competed for Dollop Racing with the former factory car at the 1000 km race at the Nürburgring – but the run with starting number 24 was to end prematurely.
The BMW M1 – Swiss Made!
After the homologation of the BMW M1 as a Group 4 race car was finally completed, the Swiss driver Peter Sauber built two examples of this Group 5 version in 1981, which was around 100 kilograms lighter than the Group 4 version. With the Ex-BASF-GS-Team M1 Group 5 shown here, Hans-Joachim Stuck and Nelson Piquet won the 1981 Nürburgring 1000 km race.
