The Spa Rally 2025 marked the exciting conclusion of the Belgian Rally Championship last weekend. In typical Ardennes conditions with changing weather, Cédric Cherain, driving a Porsche 992 Rally GT, ultimately emerged victorious, winning the traditional season finale.
Among the international participants, Germany's Colin Dünker in the Ford Fiesta Rally4 also attracted attention. Together with co-driver Jonas Decker, he showed a strong and consistent performance on the technically demanding special stages. Dünker used the renowned event to prove himself in the high-caliber environment of the Belgian Championship, impressing with more than just fast times and clean driving. In his Ford Fiesta, the oldest car in the class from a technical standpoint, the German champion of 2026 for two-wheel-drive rally cars gained over 3 minutes on his direct class competitor, the new Belgian Junior Champion and Stellantis Cup winner Lander Depotter.
The 15 special stages around Spa offered drivers a special mix of fast sections, slippery forest passages, and narrow town sections. For many teams, the rally not only served as the season finale but also as a benchmark for upcoming operations.
With his committed performance and an eleventh overall finish among more powerful vehicles, Colin Dünker underscored that he is a competitive rally driver even outside of Germany – a strong indication of his further motorsport development.
