61 cars confirmed for the Rolex 24 at Daytona

IMSA has published the provisional entry list for the 64th running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona. With a total of 61 cars, the endurance classic on January 25/26 will once again feature a full field in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season opener. The race also marks the start of the Michelin Endurance Cup 2025.

Four classes – balanced distribution

The total number of registered vehicles is distributed as follows:

  • 11 vehicles in the GTP class
  • 14 LMP2 prototypes
  • 15 GTD Pro vehicles
  • 21 GTD participants

GTP: Three-driver lineups for several top teams

Defending champion Porsche Penske Motorsport will once again enter its two Porsche 963s with three drivers each. The two Cadillac V-Series.R cars from Wayne Taylor Racing and the JDC-Miller Motorsports entry will also have a three-driver team.

The fourth driver for the Action Express Racing Cadillac No. 31 has yet to be chosen. Observers expect young driver Connor Zilich to complete the line-up, having already completed several test runs.

Several teams still have “TBD” in their driver overview for the time being, as licensing processes for individual drivers have not yet been completed. This includes Kaku Ohta, who is intended for the Acura ARX-06 from Meyer Shank Racing.

LMP2: New and confirmed driver line-ups

Team Bryan Herta Autosport with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports has confirmed Harry Tincknell and Misha Goikhberg for the season, while Parker Thompson will compete in the Endurance Cup and Ben Keating is entered for the Rolex 24.

Era Motorsport is relying on Logan Sargeant, Naveen Rao, Ferdinand Habsburg and James Roe in the Oreca No. 18. The drivers of the new Team Tonis are still to be announced.

GTD Pro and GTD: Numerous manufacturers represented

Paul Miller Racing will compete in the GTD Pro class with a BMW M4 GT3 Evo, driven by Neil Verhagen, Connor De Phillippi, Max Hesse and Dan Harper.

Team RLL is bringing the new McLaren 720S GT3 Evo to the starting line. Max Esterson, Juri Vips and Dean MacDonald have been confirmed so far; another driver will follow.

Risi Competizione returns to active racing after a one-year break and relies on a purely factory-supported Ferrari driver trio: Daniel Serra, Davide Rigon and Alessandro Pier Guidi.

In the GTD category, van der Steur Racing has so far confirmed Rory van der Steur and Valentin Hasse-Clot. RS1 will compete in the Porsche 911 GT3 R Evo with Eric Zitza and Jan Heylen in the Endurance Cup. DXDT Racing has not yet named any drivers for its Corvette Z06 GT3.R.

Also newly confirmed is the Porsche from Muehlner Motorsports, which will be driven by reigning Carrera Cup North America champion Ryan Yardley.
