39th January Rally 2026
The January Rally traditionally marks the start of the domestic and Central European rally season. Drivers, teams and fans meet again at the beginning of the year around Freistadt in the Mühlviertel region of Upper Austria to experience real rallying in often difficult winter conditions.
The Jännerrallye has been synonymous with challenging stages for decades: narrow asphalt roads, treacherous crests, changing grip conditions and – depending on the weather – snow, ice or wet surfaces. It is precisely this mixture that makes the event so appealing and demands maximum concentration from the teams from the very first meter.
The Jännerrallye has special significance as the first major test of the year. New vehicles, revised technology and fresh driver pairings meet here for the first time in competition. Surprises are not uncommon, especially at the start of the season – those who find the right rhythm and remain error-free can put themselves in the limelight early on.
The Jännerrallye is one of the highlights not only in terms of sport, but also in terms of atmosphere: Thousands of fans traditionally line the routes and create a great atmosphere despite the wintry temperatures. The service park once again becomes a meeting point for the rally scene and offers spectators the opportunity to get up close to the teams.
The Jännerrallye 2026 once again promises top-class motorsport, excitement right up to the last special stage and a worthy start to the new season. Motorsport fans can look forward to an intense rally weekend – because one thing is certain: the new motorsport season has begun. 🏁
