Anniversary Format at the GTI Meet
The 35th GTI Meet at Lake Wörthersee will take place from May 4th to 7th, and this year it celebrates the „40th Birthday of the VW Golf GTI.“ The new event concept primarily incorporates the wishes of fans, participants, and day visitors. A new logo consistently focuses again on the location, the car, and interaction. During the day, car enthusiasts will get their money's worth. For the organizer, this still means drivers and fans of all VW Group brands, but also families who can enjoy themselves with their children, moving between a large children's playground with well-maintained sanitary and changing facilities and the polished vehicles. In the exhibition area, only car-related vendors and tuners will be admitted in 2016; the many stalls with other products, food, and drinks, which had become excessive in recent years, are no longer permitted. This opens up significantly more space for moving, sitting, viewing, interacting, and especially for parking the most beautiful GTIs, VWs, Audis, Seats, and Skodas. In the evening, the location can and should then transform into a (classy) party zone. At the time of going to press, final details were still being worked out regarding a new pricing structure, a new organization of shuttle buses, and the re-regulation of entry checkpoints to give the meet an authentic festival character again. Special recognition is planned for those „long-time offenders“ who were already present at the first GTI Meet back in 1981 (more detailed, updated information at http://woertherseetreffen.at)
