The Deutscher Motor Sport Bund e. V. (DMSB) has appointed Robin Strycek as Sports Director with effect from January 1, 2026. The 33-year-old succeeds his previous role as Coordinator Sport and will assume responsibility for all sporting matters in the automobile and motorcycle sector.

In his new role, Strycek complements the full-time Executive Board team of Dr. Julia Walter, Chairwoman of the DMSB Executive Board, and Silke Langhorst, Chief Legal Officer. While the full-time Executive Board team is responsible for the operational tasks of the DMSB, the honorary Executive Committee will continue to be responsible for the strategic direction of the association.

With the appointment of Robin Strycek, the perspective of active athletes – from drivers and teams to event organizers and manufacturers – is to be given even greater consideration on the DMSB Board. In addition to overarching tasks to support the Presidium, Strycek will also be responsible for managing the Sport department in future. The area of professional sport, in particular the circuit racing discipline, will remain his direct responsibility.

Broad motorsport know-how and technical expertise

Robin Strycek brings extensive experience from various areas of motorsport to his new role. As an active racing driver and sim racer, he knows the demands of the sport at first hand. As a qualified engineer, he also has in-depth technical knowledge. Through his previous work at the DMSB, Strycek is well connected both nationally and internationally and is considered a competent contact within the motorsport organizations.

DMSB President Wagner: “Even greater focus on active athletes”

“With the appointment of Robin Strycek to the full-time leadership of our association, we are focusing even more on the needs of our active athletes,” explains DMSB President Wolfgang Wagner. “This means that commercial and legal issues as well as the interests of the sport itself will be equally represented on the board in future. My colleagues on the Executive Committee and I are very pleased about this reinforcement.”
