This year’s season finale of the RCN and the Youngtimer Trophy was dominated by challenging weather conditions. Due to the calendar, the Eifel presented itself with a typical autumn character: cool temperatures and recurring rain posed an additional challenge for all participants and became a decisive factor in the battle for the title.
Several drivers felt the effects of the difficult track conditions and had to end the weekend with damage to their vehicles – caused by spinning or skidding into the green. Despite the adverse conditions, numerous motorsport fans made their way to the track and were rewarded with exciting races.
The Youngtimer Trophy started the first race of the day together with the FHR at lunchtime. The RCN participants, on the other hand, had to wait until the afternoon and raced – with an additional delay – until the onset of dusk. Both starting fields offered motorsport at a high level and delivered thrilling duels in changing conditions between wet and drying tracks.
In the historic field, Rudolph/Hammel in a Porsche secured victory ahead of Schall in a Mercedes and Boyke, also in a Porsche. In the more modern RCN cars, the Porsche of Hamprecht/Schall/Schall led for long stretches. In the end, however, Mario Fuchs in a Mitsubishi Lancer came out on top. He was followed by Vallers in an Audi and again by Hamprecht/Schall/Schall in a Porsche.
Despite impressive overall victories, the championship titles went to other participants:
In the RCN, Hagay Farran and Moran Gott were crowned the new champions. In the FHR, Heinz Schmersal and Mike Stursberg secured the championship in the Historic Championship.
In the end, it is Fabian Brügge and Marcel Hellberg who can celebrate the title of champion 2025 in the Youngtimer Trophy. However, this decision had already been made at the penultimate race on the Nürburgring GP circuit!
