Historic Ferraris continue to be the top performers at classic race car auctions. Currently, Ferrari models hold the best results in six era categories: sports racers from 1953 to 1961, sports racers and prototype racers from 1962 to 1971, and Granturismos from 1956 to 1961, 1962 to 1965, 1966 to 1971, and 1972 to 1981. At the Retromobile auction in Paris on February 5th, Artcurial auctioned off two more record-breaking Ferrari race cars. The 1957 Ferrari 335 S Spider Scaglietti, with its 3.8-liter V12 engine and chassis number \u201e0674,\u201c debuted at the 1957 12 Hours of Sebring driven by Peter Collins and Maurice Trintignant, where they finished sixth. Wolfgang von Trips later drove it to second place in the Mille Miglia of the same year. Sold in 1958 to American Ferrari importer Luigi Chinetti, it won the Cuban Grand Prix under Stirling Moss and Masten Gregory. After another sale in the USA, French collector Pierre Bardinon purchased the car in 1970 and owned it until today. The pre-auction estimate was between 28 and 32 million Euros. The last Ferrari 250 GT SWB ever built, from 1963, with chassis number \u201e4065,\u201c which had been in the possession of a Swiss collector since 1989, was also an eye-catcher at the Artcurial auction in Paris.
