Lionspeed GP won the 2026 24 Hours of Spa, marking the greatest success in the team\u2019s history. The driver trio of Ricardo Feller, Thomas Preining, and Bastian Buus prevailed in the 79th edition of the endurance classic in front of 132,000 spectators\u2014despite starting from the pit lane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For Porsche, it's the first overall victory at the 24 Hours of Spa since 2020 and also the first win for the current 911 GT3 R (992) in this race. It's also the first triumph for Feller, Preining, and Buus in the traditional GT3 endurance race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the start, the Lionspeed Porsche continuously worked its way forward. The team especially benefited from a flawless strategy and numerous neutralization periods during the night. The decision was made in the final phase: After the last safety car restart, Thomas Preining decisively pulled away at the front and expertly brought the lead home with his teammates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An exciting three-way battle for the remaining podium spots developed behind the winners. The Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG took second place ahead of the AF Corse Ferrari. The Schumacher-CLRT-Porsche completed the leading group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AF Corse had good chances for victory at one point, but was set back twice by tire damage during the race. Nevertheless, the team fought its way back to the podium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Several favorites had to retire from the race prematurely. Among others, vehicles from GetSpeed Mercedes-AMG, Verstappen Racing, Comtoyou Aston Martin, Garage 59 McLaren, and Grasser Racing Lamborghini dropped out due to accidents or technical problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the further classes, the victories went to Rowe Racing in the Gold Cup, Rinaldi Racing in the Silver Cup, Kessel Racing in the Bronze Cup, and JMR in the Pro-Am Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
