In the final phase, victory initially seemed destined for BMW or Cadillac. However, a safety car period after the recovery of a Porsche vehicle brought the field closer together, adding extra tension to the fight for the top positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the restart, an intense battle for the overall lead developed all the way to the checkered flag. Toyota ultimately prevailed, celebrating its sixth Le Mans victory. BMW, with the M Hybrid V8, finished second, achieving the manufacturer's best result at the 24 Hours of Le Mans since their overall win in 1999.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second Toyota, with Brendon Hartley, Ryo Hirakawa, and S\u00e9bastien Buemi, came in third. The car even had a chance to win at one point, but lost valuable time due to repairs on the braking system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cadillac finished in fourth place with Norman Nato, Will Stevens, and Louis Del\u00e9traz. The top five were rounded out by the Ferrari 499P with James Calado, Antonio Giovinazzi, and Alessandro Pier Guidi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the LMP2 category, Inter Europol Competition triumphed. Tom Dillmann, Jakub Smiechowski, and Nick Yelloly won with their Oreca 07, securing the Polish team their third class victory at Le Mans in four years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
